Our Judges

2019 Judges

At Caesarstone, we aspire to design excellence. This is why we are proud to present our judging panel, made up of design industry heavyweights; Stefan Antoni of SAOTA, Dorothy van’t Riet of DVR Design & Décor Consultants, Donald Nxumalo of DNX Interiors, Michele Rhoda of ARRCC and Jonathan Anstey of Anstey Architects. Together, these five highly experienced professionals come together to judge the 2019 Caesarstone Student Designer Competition entries.

Stefan Antoni

Stefan Antoni is a director of the multi-award winning architectural practice SAOTA, which has carved a niche for itself locally and internationally with powerful designs that respond dynamically to context and brief.

Donald Nxumalo

As the mastermind behind DNX Interior Design, Donald has been gaining accolades from clients across Africa, for his flawless interior designs. Projects have included consular offices in Tanzania, a hotel in Uganda and the homes of many celebrities in South Africa.

Michele Rhoda

As one of the Directors of award-winning international firm ARRCC, Michele believes that a strong work ethic and the ability to earn trust with her clients is paramount to the success of their designs.

Jonathan Anstey

Jonathan Anstey is an international group director of Anstey Steynberg Architects, based in Johannesburg

Dorothy vant Riet

Dorothy van’t Riet is the creative director and principal interior designer of her company Dorothy van’t Riet Design Consultants, based in Johannesburg. As the founder of the DVR Design Academy, Dorothy has also for many years been actively involved with interior design education, offering many courses to aspiring interior designers.

Previous Judges

Stephen Falcke is a world-renowned interior designer who studied at London’s Chelsea School of Art before returning to South Africa. Although primarily based in Johannesburg, Stephen is noted for his work in homes around the world.

Mphethi Morojele

Mphethi Morojele is the founder and managing director of MMA Design studio, based in Johannesburg. His practice has won numerous design awards and recognition both locally and abroad.
